Jeffrey grew up on the beaches of California and then made his way to Cape Cod

Coming from musical parents with 2 musical siblings he plays from the heart and has had formal training as a youth, and a lifetime of performing nationwide. Some call it a New York sound, but what you hear is unlike many in his class. Purely entertaining as a solo act he designs and edits musical background tracks professionally to compliment his sound. Jeffrey plays several instruments including, alto, tenor, soprano saxes, flute, synthesizers, and back up vocals.

Musical career -

Jeffrey’s musical career began in the 70’s at San Mateo High School playing in the school jazz band where he was voted being the first California and US recipient of the “Luis Armstrong Jazz Award”, and also playing in the marching band that was selected to represent California in Nixon’s Inauguration in DC, and top 40 bands doing parties, dances, and fairground gigs. He then attended the College of San Mateo, majoring in Music and was 1st chair solo clarinetist for the college 200 piece symphony. Jeffrey also played in the award winning CSM jazz band. While touring the western US with bands for about 15 years, he got to see the wonderful things this country has to offer, and recorded with popular artists when back in San Francisco.

Music Resume-

Jeffrey’s musical resume from California consists of concert performances, gigs, and recordings with people such as, Touch N Go, members of Tower of Power ( Dave Garibaldi, Hubert Tubs, Rocco Prestia, and Bruce Conti.), Brian Auger and the Oblivion Express, The Crest, Sammy Hagar, Stan Kenton, Mary Wells, Peter Tork, Tavares, Billy Preston, George Duke, Pablo Cruise, and many more. In 1980 he was the musical director and saxophonist for a traveling 12 piece show band that toured from Sacramento, to Florida, San Francisco to Hawaii. Look him up - MAX as Elvis.

The Move East-

In 1985 Jeffrey landed on Cape Cod which brought him playing again with several bands and recording projects with the Jim Miller project, Mike Dumas and the Hollywood Horns, Frankie Spellman, Vince Gabriel, and another at a Plymouth Studio with Bob Yen as producer for a project featuring a new local vocalist with Jeffrey laying down all the sax solos next to Deni Dias from Steely Dan. The project featured  backup horns by The Mighty Bostones too, and he was even in an MTV video for the album. He has played with many of the Cape bands for the last 40 years. May of 2022 he started a new solo career after loosing his lead guitarist/singer Mark Hennessy and 22 years with the well known Cape Cod Slackers. Thanks go to Chapins, Chatham Squire, The Lanyard, Irish Pub, Lost Dog Pub, Ocean House, Pelham House, Red Face Jacks, and The Woodshed for great times and many memories.

Jeffrey is currently working with his Solo Sax & Tracks gig for local restaurant venues playing smooth jazz hits, and also playing in 2 other bands on Cape Cod- “TWISTER” AND “THE DETOURS“.

Jeffrey known as “Hollywood” continues to be a moving light of talent on this island.
